This white gathering tape is suitable for creating a neat three-pleat heading in net and voile curtains. By gently pulling the cords, the curtain fabric is arranged into regularly spaced groups of three pleats. This pleat style gives light and transparent curtain fabrics a neat and classic appearance. The tape is 30 mm wide and is sewn to the reverse of the curtain fabric along the upper edge. After sewing, pull the cords until the curtain reaches the required width. Distribute the groups of pleats evenly across the complete width and tie the cords securely. It is best not to cut the cords too short. Roll them up and conceal them behind the curtain instead, so that the curtain width can still be adjusted later. First determine the required finished height and width of the curtain. Calculate how much tape you need and allow for the required hemming and processing margin.

Pin or tack the gathering tape horizontally to the reverse of the curtain fabric along the upper edge. Check that the tape is positioned at the same height across the complete width. Make sure the cords remain accessible at both ends and do not stitch through them.

Sew the tape securely along its upper and lower edges using a fine needle and thread suitable for net or voile curtains. If in doubt, test the stitching on a leftover piece first, as lightweight and transparent fabrics may be damaged by an unsuitable needle or excessive thread tension.
