Decoration Paint: Paint, Colour and Decorative Techniques for Your Interior

A new colour on the wall, a cabinet with an aged finish or a treasured find given a new place in your home. With Decoration Paint, you can make your interior feel personal. Discover our own range of 27 colours, complementary finishes and decorative painting techniques. For small changes or a complete interior where colours and materials work beautifully together.

27 Colours, Each with a Story

The colours in the Decoration Paint range are inspired by art and cultural history. Each shade has its own character, from soft tones that bring a sense of calm to deep colours that make a room feel cosy and inviting. The matt finish provides a beautiful foundation for a variety of interior styles. Repeat a colour on a piece of furniture or an accessory, or combine different shades to add depth. This brings walls, furniture and details together into a harmonious whole. Unsure which colour to choose? View a colour sample in the room you plan to decorate. Daylight, artificial lighting and surrounding materials all influence how you perceive the colour.

Give Furniture and Accessories a Second Life

Beautiful does not have to mean new. An existing cabinet, a wooden frame or a forgotten accessory can become part of your interior again with a change of colour. Keep what is still in good condition and update what no longer suits your taste. A successful result starts with the surface. Make sure it is clean, free from grease and sound. The preparation and finish required depend on the material, the existing coating and how the item will be used. You will find further guidance in the product information, and we are happy to help if you need advice.

Explore Decorative Painting Techniques

Decoration Paint offers more than a smooth, even coat of colour. Discover techniques such as White Wash, Colour Wash and patination to create subtle colour variations, build up layers and achieve a weathered or aged appearance. The result depends on the combination of colour, surface and application technique. Always start with a test piece. This helps you discover how much colour, texture and contrast suit your furniture or room.

Choose a Suitable Finish with Varnish or Silken Wax

The finish helps determine how your work looks, feels and needs to be maintained. Decoration varnish provides a protective finish for painted surfaces. Silken Wax creates a soft sheen and a distinctive appearance. The right choice depends on the surface, the desired effect and the amount of wear it will receive. A decorative frame has different requirements from a piece of furniture used every day. Read the product information or ask us which finish suits your project.

Learn the Techniques in a Workshop

Would you like to experience how to apply colours and techniques yourself? During a personal workshop with Brenda Baart, you will explore Decoration’s decorative painting techniques. You will practise, discover the effects of different methods and learn how to build up your chosen finish. During a creative painting session at the Decoration Werk Atelier, you will work on furniture or accessories you bring along. With guidance on colour, preparation and application, you can give your own pieces a fresh look.
