Karin Toma

Karin Toma paints from a longing for connection: between humanity and nature, between earth and the universe, between what is visible and what is felt deep within. In her colourful works, a world emerges that seems unbound by time or place, inviting the viewer to experience tranquillity, hope and wonder. For Karin, colour is more than a visual medium. She regards colour as a wordless language through which feelings of love, light and unity can become visible. In her paintings, forms and shades merge into one another, as though she is trying to capture the boundary where heaven and earth meet. It is there that a new reality arises: open, vibrant and full of possibility. Her work stems from an inner quest. In series such as The Search and Hope for More, the focus is not only on the world around us, but also on the personal journey inward. For Karin, painting is an intuitive process in which she gives space to emotion, imagination and the unknown. Karin Toma’s paintings speak through their strength of colour and spiritual depth. They do not ask for one fixed interpretation, but invite the viewer to pause, to feel and to experience a momentary connection with a greater whole. Her work depicts a hopeful dream: a world in which unity, love and solidarity become tangible.
