This transparent wave curtain heading tape is 77 mm wide and designed for creating curtains with a smooth, evenly spaced wave pattern. The tape is sewn to the top of the curtain fabric and features markings for fullness ratios of 200%, 250% and 280%. This allows you to adapt the fullness to the fabric, curtain track system and desired appearance. A ratio of 200% creates a calmer wave using less fabric, while 250% and 280% provide an increasingly fuller and more luxurious curtain. The tape can be fitted either way up. By turning it around before sewing, you can adjust the distance between the top of the curtain and the suspension point. This allows you to adapt the heading height to the curtain track and the desired finish. Its transparent construction keeps the tape relatively unobtrusive behind light, fine or sheer curtain fabrics. For a properly functioning wave curtain, the tape must be combined with a suitable wave track system, compatible runners and curtain hooks. Before sewing, check that the selected marking and hook spacing are compatible with the system being used. Choosing between 200%, 250% and 280%

The percentages indicate the relationship between the amount of curtain fabric used and the finished width of the closed curtain. 200%: creates a calmer wave with relatively low fabric consumption. For one metre of finished curtain width, use approximately two metres of curtain fabric and tape. 250%: creates a fuller and more clearly defined wave. For one metre of finished curtain width, use approximately 2.5 metres of curtain fabric and tape. 280%: creates a rich and extra-full curtain. For one metre of finished curtain width, use approximately 2.8 metres of curtain fabric and tape. These calculations are a guide. The actual amount required also depends on the width of the track, the spacing between the runners, the hook arrangement, the side finishing and the wave system used. 

Sewing and installation advice

Before sewing, determine which marking you wish to use and how high the heading above the suspension point should be. Position the tape in the correct direction along the top edge on the reverse of the curtain fabric. Pin or tack the tape in a straight line and sew it carefully along the appropriate sewing lines. Use a needle, thread and stitch length suitable for the selected curtain fabric. When working with fine or transparent fabrics, test the stitching on a leftover piece first. Insert the curtain hooks according to the selected markings and the instructions for the wave track system. Hang the curtain and distribute the waves evenly. If possible, leave the curtain hanging in the correct wave pattern for a while so that the fabric can settle into shape.

You can order this product to the nearest centimetre. The stated price is per metre. This allows you to order only the length you actually require and helps reduce unnecessary offcuts. Always include a small cutting and processing allowance.

HOW TO ORDER

Quantity: enter the number of separate pieces you require.
Length: enter the required length per piece. The entered length applies to each individual piece. For example, would you like 2 pieces measuring 2.50 metres each? Enter 2 under Quantity and 2.50 m under Length. You will receive two separate pieces measuring 2.50 metres each. The total ordered length in this example is 5 metres.

FIXED WIDTH AND CONTINUOUS LENGTH

This product is supplied in a fixed width of 77 mm. Before ordering, check whether this width is suitable for your curtain fabric, the desired heading height and the wave track system being used. Would you like one continuous piece measuring, for example, 5 metres? Enter 1 under Quantity and 5.00 m under Length. You will receive one continuous 5-metre piece, subject to the available roll length. Do you require several curtains with the same tape length? Enter the number of separate pieces under Quantity and the required length per piece under Length. If you require pieces in different lengths, add them as separate order lines or contact us before ordering.

CHECKING THE LENGTH AND MARKINGS

Before ordering, decide which ratio you wish to use: 200%, 250% or 280%. Calculate the required amount of tape based on the finished curtain width and include sufficient allowance for finishing the sides. Also check the runner spacing and hook arrangement of the selected wave track system. The tape alone does not determine the final wave pattern. The combination of fabric fullness, markings, hooks, runners and track creates an even result.

If a sample is available for this product and you would first like to assess its transparency, texture, quality or width, enter 1 under Quantity and 0.10 m under Length. You will receive a 10-centimetre sample across the fixed width of 77 mm. A 10-centimetre sample may not contain all markings and is not long enough to test a complete wave arrangement.
