In Ladies in Pink, Antoinette brings two stylised women together in an exuberant pink scene. With their generous hats, pearls and celebratory glasses, they almost mirror one another. The table set with cakes, flowers and champagne reinforces the feeling of togetherness, celebration and enjoyment. The nearly symmetrical composition draws the eye towards the glasses in the centre. Clear black contours give the figures strength, while different shades of pink add softness, warmth and energy. Green, red and yellow details break up the pink and keep the composition lively. The work is painted in acrylic on canvas. The canvas is stretched over a frame approximately 7 cm deep. The artist

Antoinette works with a distinctive figurative visual language in which people, colour and human connection take centre stage. Her figures are strongly stylised, yet remain recognisable and approachable. In Ladies in Pink, she uses everyday and celebratory details to suggest a story. The pearls, painted nails, cakes and champagne give the work humour and personality. As a result, the painting does not feel distant, but rather like a moment in which the viewer is invited to join.

Interior advice by Decoration

With its square format of 80 × 80 cm, Ladies in Pink has enough presence above a sideboard, in a dining area or on an open wall in the living room. It is best viewed from a distance of approximately 1.5 to 2.5 metres. Leaving enough space around the painting prevents its many shades of pink and festive details from having to compete with other decoration.

Scenario 1 – Light and refined

Choose Old White as a calm base colour for the wall. This warm shade of white allows the pink to appear clear without creating a harsh contrast. Shabby Pink can be repeated subtly on a small piece of furniture or in a niche. Combine this with light wood, linen and transparent glass. This creates a soft, elegant atmosphere in which the artwork provides most of the colour. Deliberately avoid busy patterns and an abundance of pink accessories.

Scenario 2 – Bold and celebratory

A wall in Georgian Green creates a distinctive contrast. The green balances the pink tones while reinforcing the green details in the plant and champagne bottle. Combine it with dark wood, velvet and small accents in Gold. This choice works particularly well in a dining area or living room with plenty of daylight. Use gold sparingly to keep the result rich without becoming excessive.

A wall in Montmartre Grey gives the painting a calm and contemporary background. Repeat Cornwall Black on an existing sideboard, occasional table or slender lamp. This connects the black contours and painted black sides of the artwork with the interior. Glass, matt metal and simply designed furniture keep the space visually clear.
