From Art Gallery, interior and art stylist Brenda Baart guided them through this process. Based on the floor plan of the home, she provided clear advice on scale, atmosphere, and placement. With its high ceilings, white walls, and calm architecture, the space proved ideal for a large, expressive artwork of no less than three meters.

In an interior like this, art should not overwhelm, but enrich—adding softness, depth, and personality. Combined with a beautifully hand-painted vase, the artwork became a lively and joyful statement, while still preserving the serenity of the space. This balance between art, interior, and emotion formed the foundation of the Art Gallery approach.

For this special commission, a dedicated artist worked with great care on two bespoke pieces. Week after week, the artworks were created in Axel, until every detail aligned with the scale and feeling of the home. When the final touches were completed, Brenda Baart invited the clients to the gallery to experience the result. It was a powerful moment—upon seeing the artworks, they were moved to tears. Not long after, the pieces were transported to Portugal, and a few weeks later, a photograph arrived showing the artworks in their final destination.

What began as a search for the right painting became something much more: a personal journey in which interior design, emotion, and art came together as one meaningful whole.
