I’m Brenda, an interior stylist and colour consultant. With a background in paint, fabrics, art, visual merchandising and interior design, I help you make choices that are not only beautiful, but also practical, personal and well considered.
Who am I?
Growing up surrounded by paint, curtains and decorative materials.
Zeeuws-Vlaanderen as my home base.
Rural, down-to-earth and close to Belgium. You can see that combination reflected in my style: warm, honest and with a slightly individual edge.

My name is Brenda Baart. I live with my husband Paul in Zeelandic Flanders, close to the Belgian border. The rural surroundings, my Flemish roots, the sea, forests and villages around me continue to be an important source of inspiration.
Interior design has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents ran an interior furnishings shop in Clinge, and I grew up surrounded by paint, fabrics, curtains, wallpaper, flowers and decorative objects.
From an early age, I learned that an interior is not simply about the things you put in it, but about how a space feels: the first impression when you walk in, the way the light falls and why a room does or does not feel right.
Today, I combine that hands-on experience with my work for Decoration and Art Gallery Pot. It allows me to take a broad view of an interior: colour, furniture, art, materials, light, budget and practical execution all play a part. My goal is simple: to create an interior that feels like a natural extension of who you are.
My vision
An interior should feel right. Not only today, but for years to come.
I believe in interiors that are personal, honest and sustainable. A trend can inspire, but it should never become more important than the people who live in the space. That is why I always start with you: how do you want the space to feel, what do you want to keep, what can change and what needs to remain practical and achievable?
I enjoy working with existing furniture, heirlooms and objects that carry a story. Sometimes something stays exactly as it is. Sometimes it takes on new meaning with Decoration Paint, a different fabric, new curtains or simply a different place in the home.
Art has a special role in this process. A work of art can bring calm, add energy or give a room direction. By coordinating colour, light and materials around it, a sense of harmony emerges without losing the individuality of the interior.
Personal
An interior should feel like it belongs to you. Not perfect according to a trend, but right for your life, your memories and the way you live.
Sustainable
Beautiful does not always have to mean new. Existing furniture, heirlooms and cherished objects are given a second life wherever possible.
Colour-focused
Colour shapes the atmosphere, energy and behaviour within a space. That is why good advice does not start with just any shade, but with feeling, light and function.
Practical and achievable
A beautiful design only has real value when you know how to bring it to life. That is why I also think along with you about the steps, planning, products and budget.
My journey
From a village shop to colour consultancy, art consultancy and complete interior plans.
This timeline is not meant to read as a complete life story, but as a reflection of experience: paint, visual merchandising, fabrics, art, teaching, entrepreneurship and interior consultancy all come together in my work.
The beginning: The story begins with my grandparents, who started a painting business in Clinge. Surrounded by tins of paint, fabrics, curtains and decorative materials, my love of colour and interiors grew naturally from an early age.
1980: During the day, I worked in the shop; in the evenings, I studied window dressing, visual merchandising, interior furnishing and interior architecture. This taught me not only how to design, but also how to observe, combine and bring ideas to life.
1997: As a window dresser and later as a franchisee of Crea & Artiva Zeeland, I worked on presentations, customer flow and atmosphere for businesses. This further refined my sense of experience, composition and customer behaviour.
2007: At Pot Interieur, everything came together: styling, the showroom experience and art. After the rebuilding following the fire, I was given the opportunity to start Art Gallery Pot, where art and interior design naturally enhance one another.
2011: Teaching window dressing helped me put my vision into clear words. What had once felt intuitive became a method: observe, analyse, choose and explain why something works.
2015: Within Decoration, I work with our own collection of 27 carefully selected colours. These colours form the foundation for paint, fabrics, accessories, curtains, wall finishes and complete interior concepts.
Now: Today, I help clients with colour advice, art advice and complete interior plans. Always personal, practical and tailored to the space, the budget, the existing furniture and the feeling someone wants to experience at home.
