      White nylon cord for Roman blinds – 1.30 mm diameter

      Product description

      This white nylon cord with a diameter of 1.30 mm is intended for operating Roman blinds. The cord can be guided through the plastic rings of ring tape or through the guides of a suitable lifting system. When the cords are pulled evenly, the blind fabric is raised and forms horizontal folds. Use a separate length of cord for each vertical row of rings or guides. The required length depends on the height and width of the Roman blind, the number of vertical cord runs and the route the cords follow to the operating point. Before use, check whether the 1.30 mm diameter is suitable for the rings, guides, mechanism and weight of your blind. The nylon cord can be ordered to the nearest centimetre; the stated price is per metre.

      Calculating the required length

      First determine how many vertical cord runs the Roman blind requires. This number depends on the width and weight of the blind fabric and the construction of the lifting system used.

      Next, calculate the length of each individual cord. Allow for:

      • the full height of the blind;
      • the route of the vertical cord run;
      • the horizontal distance to the operating side;
      • the additional length required for fastening, tying and adjustment;
      • a small processing allowance.

      Add together the lengths of all the individual cords if you wish to order one continuous piece and cut the cords to size yourself. Would you prefer to receive the cords as separate pieces? Enter the required number of cords under Quantity and the desired length per cord under Length.

      Installation

      Secure each cord firmly at the bottom of the corresponding vertical cord run. Then guide it from bottom to top through the plastic rings of the ring tape or through the guides of the system being used. Bring the cords together at the chosen operating side according to the instructions supplied with the lifting system. Before securing them permanently, check that all cords can move freely and have approximately the same tension. Test the blind several times. It should raise straight and evenly and lower again without catching. If one side rises more quickly, check the cord length, tension and position of the rings or guides.Inspect the cord regularly for wear or damage and replace it if fibres become loose or the cord no longer moves smoothly through the system. Make sure that loose cords and cord loops are secured safely and kept out of reach of young children. Always follow the installation and safety instructions supplied with the lifting system.
