Product description

This white hook tape forms the firm hook side of a hook-and-loop fastening. The small hooks engage with a compatible soft loop side, creating a practical fastening that can be opened and closed repeatedly. The backing features a self-adhesive layer. This makes the tape suitable for attaching to a smooth board and hanging a curtain pelmet. Sew a compatible loop tape onto the curtain pelmet and attach the hook tape to the mounting board. The curtain pelmet can then be installed, removed and reattached easily, for example for cleaning or maintenance. Before applying the tape, make sure the board is smooth, clean, dry and free from dust and grease. Measure the position carefully, remove the protective film and press the tape down firmly along its entire length. Adhesion may be weaker on rough, porous, untreated or dusty wood. The weight of the curtain pelmet and the frequency with which the fastening is opened also affect the load. If in doubt, test the tape first or use an additional fastening suitable for the board. This product has a fixed width of 20 mm and can be ordered to the required length with centimetre precision. Please note: you will receive the hook side only. A compatible loop side is not automatically included.

You can order this product with centimetre precision. The listed price is per metre.

HOW TO ORDER

Quantity: enter the number of separate pieces you require.
Length: enter the required length per piece. The entered length applies to each individual piece. For example, if you require 2 pieces measuring 1.50 metres each, enter 2 under Quantity and 1.50 m under Length. You will receive two separate pieces, each measuring 1.50 metres. In this example, the total ordered length is 3 metres.

FIXED WIDTH AND CONTINUOUS LENGTH

This product is supplied in a fixed width. This width is stated in the product specifications. Before ordering, check that the fixed width is suitable for your intended application. Would you like one continuous piece measuring, for example, 3 metres? Enter 1 under Quantity and 3.00 m under Length. You will receive one continuous 3-metre piece, subject to the available roll length. If you require several pieces in different lengths, place them as separate order lines or contact us before ordering.

REQUESTING A SAMPLE

If a sample is available for this product and you would first like to assess its colour, texture, quality or thickness, enter 1 under Quantity and 0.10 m under Length. You will receive a 10-centimetre sample across the product’s fixed width.

Is this a complete hook-and-loop fastening?

No. This product contains the hook side only. You will also need a compatible loop side to create a complete fastening.

Can I use this tape to hang a curtain pelmet?

Yes. Attach the self-adhesive hook side to a suitable board. A compatible loop side must be sewn or attached to the curtain pelmet. This allows the pelmet to be installed and removed easily.

How do I attach the hook tape to the board?

Make sure the board is smooth, clean, dry and free from dust and grease. Measure the position, remove the protective film and press the tape down firmly and evenly along its entire length.

Is the hook tape suitable for untreated wood?

Adhesion may be weaker on rough, porous or dusty wood. Always test it first. Depending on the surface and the weight of the curtain pelmet, an additional fastening may be required.

What is the difference between the hook side and the loop side?

The hook side contains small hooks. The loop side has a soft, velour-like texture to which the hooks attach. Together, they form a removable fastening.
