Framing workshop - A frame that enhances your artwork

A good frame does more than simply finish an artwork. The right framing protects the piece, enhances its appearance and helps connect art and interior in a beautiful way.

At Art Gallery, we look not only at the artwork itself, but also at the space where it will be displayed. Colour, material, glass choice, depth and size all determine the final result. This gives your artwork a presentation that suits both the piece and your interior.

Which framing suits your artwork?

Not every artwork requires the same type of framing. An oil painting or acrylic painting on canvas is often framed without glass, for example in a floating frame. Graphic art, photography, etchings, drawings and collages are usually framed behind glass.

There are several options. Think of a mount in combination with an elegant frame, a sleek aluminium frame or a floating presentation in a display frame. Each choice influences whether the artwork feels calm, powerful, modern or classic.

From floating frame to display frame

In our framing workshop, we work with different types of frames and presentation methods. Think of wooden and aluminium frames, floating frames, interchangeable frames, display frames, stretcher frames, mount board and other framing materials.

A floating frame gives a canvas depth and makes the artwork feel more spatial. A mount creates breathing space around a work on paper and gives it a calm, refined presentation. A display frame is a beautiful choice when you want to present a work floating or create extra depth.

Glass choice and protection

For artworks framed behind glass, the choice of glass is important. You can choose from different types of glass, depending on the artwork, the place where it will hang and the desired appearance.

Sometimes clear standard glass is sufficient. In other situations, anti-reflective glass, extra-clear glass or glass with better protection against discolouration is the better choice. We advise you honestly, so the work is well protected and beautifully presented.
