Decoration Paint Gold is a metallic gold shade that brings warmth, shine and character together. This color adds a touch of glamour to any interior without becoming excessive. Think of historic palaces, antique gold leaf and understated luxury.
Gold evokes images of baroque salons, royal ceilings and handcrafted gilded woodwork. It adds warmth and elegance whether you highlight a niche, refresh a piece of furniture or accent decorative details.
It pairs beautifully with Sint Helena Blue, Mystery Grey and Montmartre Grey for a deep and refined look. Combined with warm beiges and Cyprus White, it creates a softer and more luminous atmosphere.

Do you have questions about colour selection, application, or processing? Here you will find clear answers and practical tips, so you can get started with confidence and proper preparation.
Decoration Paint Gold covers approximately 8 to 10 m² per litre per coat. For a smooth and durable finish, we recommend applying two coats. Actual coverage depends on the surface and its absorption level.
Gold belongs to our color group “In a Rich Man’s World.” Gold is associated with the color of the sun, freshness, bloom, intellect, generosity and courage. This color group creates a warm feeling and brings shine, energy and richness into an interior.
Throughout history, gold has held a special meaning. It represents the sun, the source of all life, and the precious metal through which dreams are turned into reality.
No, Decoration Paint is not officially a chalk paint. Genuine chalk paint has a different base composition. Decoration Paint is of significantly higher quality than traditional chalk or lime paints. A key difference is durability: Decoration Paint is washable, whereas chalk paint generally is not. Thanks to its powdery matte finish, it has a similar appearance to chalk or lime paint — but with far better performance.
Absolutely! We spent a long time perfecting the ideal formula to achieve the highest quality and the most beautiful finish. As a result, the paint is washable and suitable for both interior and exterior use.
The paint is porous, which means grease stains may occur — for example, when used in a kitchen. Our advice? Apply the Decoration Paint “extra matte varnish” as a protective finish. This varnish is transparent, colourless, and provides ideal protection for your painted surface. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Because the paint is porous, it does not protect wood in the way a lacquer would. In this case as well, the “extra matte varnish” is the perfect solution — apply it to provide additional protection for wooden surfaces.
Gold has an ideal texture and creates a beautiful, shimmering golden effect. Because Gold contains metallic particles, it is important to stir the paint thoroughly before and during use. These metallic particles create the distinctive shimmer and rich character of the colour.
For a clear and warm golden result, you can first apply a base coat in Goethe Yellow. Gold will then appear fuller and more radiant.
The surface colour has a significant influence on the final result. On a base in Olive or Carmine Red, Gold creates a different, more decorative effect with additional depth and character.
Apply Gold evenly in thin, careful coats. This ensures that the metallic particles are distributed beautifully and creates an elegant, shimmering finish.
Always ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust and grease. Unlike most types of paint, you do NOT need to sand furniture or accessories before applying Decoration Paint.
The paint can be applied with a brush or roller. When using specific decorative techniques, it may be diluted with water or varnish if required.
Unlike most types of paint, you do not need to apply a primer or undercoat on bleeding wood. However, we do recommend applying a solid layer of “extra matte varnish” before applying Decoration Paint. This helps seal the surface and prevents tannins from migrating through the paint layer.
Application & Coverage
Apply with a roller, brush, block brush, or paint sprayer on a clean, dry surface. In doubt? Always test on a small area first.
