Discover the 27 colours of Decoration Paint
A monumental textile artwork that does not demand attention, but breathes. Wind moves between landscape and abstraction, leaving space for interpretation, silence and emotion.
Pauline | 155 × 100 cm | Textile, paint and embroidery on linen
This piece begins with a simple, almost humble act: on a base of bleached linen, a layer of fleece is stitched down with a coarse seam. That is the foundation.
Over this base, paint flows softly into itself. No sharp lines. No fixed boundaries. The composition resembles a misty landscape, a drifting cloud mass, a horizon dissolving into air. Grey tones, muted earth hues and subtle tonal transitions create depth without weight.
Delicate embroidered accents interrupt the softness and introduce rhythm. From a distance, the work feels atmospheric and fluid. Up close, the craftsmanship becomes visible.
It feels like moving air. Like wind sweeping across open land. Like a memory of a place that is never fully defined.
Pauline works with textile as a carrier of emotion. Her foundation is tactile and layered: linen, fleece, thread. She builds each piece gradually, allowing material and paint to merge into one surface.
Her palette is restrained and natural. Forms emerge without being forced into definition. The viewer is invited to interpret freely. There is no imposed narrative — only space for personal experience.
At 155 × 100 cm, this work requires intention. It is not decorative. It anchors a room.
Scenario 1 – Spacious living room or open void
Place it above a sofa against a calm base colour such as Decoration Paint Mystery Grey or a soft chalky beige. Combine with natural materials like wool, wood and linen.
Result: depth, softness and visual calm. The artwork softens rigid architectural lines.
Scenario 2 – Bedroom
Position it behind the bed as a central focal point. Choose matte wall paint and avoid gloss. Textile against textile enhances a feeling of protection and quiet.
Result: a meditative, enveloping atmosphere.
Scenario 3 – Professional or reception space
In minimalist surroundings, this work introduces warmth without overpowering the space. It softens both visually and acoustically.
Result: professionalism balanced with humanity.
This artwork responds beautifully to side lighting. Raking light reveals the embroidery texture and layered surface.
Avoid harsh spotlights. Diffused light — similar to daylight filtered through linen curtains — enhances its depth.
This is not a work you grasp in a single glance. It unfolds slowly. That is its strength.
