As a restorer of old statues and ornaments, Jo Fassaert became acquainted with the possibilities offered by various techniques. One of his interests is nature, especially craters, comets and volcanic plains. For some these are expressions of a silent danger, for others a quiet movement. Jo began to apply the techniques he had learned as a restorer to the canvas and created a new way of painting. The perfect mix of dedication, daring and technique.
